JSC Vyborgskaya cellulose started up since May, 12 1926 when on peninsula Johannes the company "Hackman & K" began construction of sulfite-cellulose plant. In a year, in May 1927 the plant got the first cellulose.

JSC Vyborgskaya cellulose produces unbleached softwood sulfite pulp.

This production is equipped by "Enso-Gutzeit" (Finland) and includes wood-processing shop, acid-cooking shop, washing and wood-pressing shops, wood pulp screening. Sulfite-cellulose production has 5 digesters, which produce 180 t of cellulose per 24 hours. The production processes up to 1 000 m3 of wood. Alkaline solutions are used in production of fodder protein yeast and lignosulfonates.
